Games I Don’t Tell People I’ve Played

I’m sure I am not alone when I say that I have games in my collection that I am slightly embarrassed to say I have played at one point or another. I guess you could say they are more guilty pleasure games. When I started writing this post I was thinking more around games I played when I was growing up and then mixing in more recent games but it just became a bit of a mess. Instead, I decided to go with more recent games instead.

Before I get started and reveal those games, I just want to give a big shoutout to Her Gaming World’s post which gave me the inspiration to share a few of my own guilty pleasure games from over the years.

Sunset Overdrive

This was one of the first games I purchased when I first got my Xbox One. I had heard so many mixed reviews about the game and many of my friends who had played it simply hated the game so much. I however really enjoyed the game. Although there were a few moments where I rage quit and wanted to give up on the game I eventually completed it a couple of times now and just have a handful of achievements left to get at some point.

Goat Simulator

Who hasn’t been curious about this game? You’re a goat and you go around destroying everything you can. Simple as that. The game is a great laugh and if you are like me I just run around hoping for the best.

Lego Games

Star Wars, Batman, Harry Potter. Name the Lego game and I’ve probably played it. I’ve had people ask me why I play the Lego games before and simply it is because I enjoy them and they are pretty straight forward games you can pick up as and when you want. I grew up playing the likes of Lego Loco, Lego Racer and Lego Rock Raiders. It’s nice to see how they have developed and expanded over the years.

Farming Simulator

I don’t even know how I ended up playing Farming Simulator. It just kind of happened one evening when talking with some friends but I loved every second of it.

There were many games I could have chosen to feature in this blog post but I felt that these four would be good to reveal. I may one day reveal a few more but for now, they can remain a secret.

As I mentioned at the start of this post, it was inspired by Her Gaming World’s recent blog post about Five Guilty Pleasure Games from her Childhood. You can check out her post here and also check out her Twitter here.

  1. I really enjoyed Sunset Overdrive. I have only completed it once (and not all the collectibles because they were driving me mad) but it was good fun. I also love the Lego games, they are fun and quite relaxing.

We downloaded Goat Simulator when it was free ages ago but I haven’t played it. Watched my other half play it and it just seems so daft and fun but never got round to it. I might at some point!

    1. Sunset Overdrive definitely has driven me mad over time but I still have great fun playing it. The Lego games I think will always have a place in my collection because of how fun and relaxing they are.

The first time I played Goat Simulator I really was questioning myself as to why I was playing the game as it is just completely daft and made no sense. I found it’s good to pick up when you just want to run around and pass some time.

  3. If what I’ve heard about the humor of Sunset Overdrive is any indication, quite frankly, I don’t blame you for wanting to keep that one to yourself. I think I’d prefer to rewatch Sunset Boulevard instead.
